Hey Reader,
Friend, I can't believe it took me so long to do this...but it's done. And, it's freaking delish. Of course it is!
Confession: before this, I'd never made French Onion Soup. Now, I don't ever need to know another way. Sorry not sorry.
Are you a French Onion Soup lover?? Well, if you are - you've gotta try this out.
Crock Pot French Onion Soup
You can go checkout how I made this on IG (yes, come say hey!). I'm telling you, this is a keeper.
Ingredients:
- Thinly-ish slice 6 onions (I used a whole bag of yellow onions & I cut them by hand, but use whatever fancy tools you want to make this easier....it was the hardest part LOL)
- 1 head (YES HEAD) of garlic (slice off the top & expose the cloves.
- 1 stick of butter
- 2 boxes (QTs) of BEEF bone broth or stock
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary for fun
Instructions:
- Slice the onions & dump into the crockpot. Salt generously (3 tsp) of salt & pepper with your heart. Stir to break apart all the onions.
- Slice the top off the garlic head & drizzle with olive oil. Nestle her on top of all the onions.
- Place the entire stick of butter on top of the onions. (No need to cut up).
- Throw in your rosemary whole.
- Cook on low all day (8-ish hours) & stir once if you'd like. THEN, squeeze the head of garlic & mash the roasted garlic into the onions. Add your bone broth (or stock). Cook for about 1 hour on high. Enjoy!
- Serving Suggestions: I make a separate cheesy garlic toast & top my soup bowl with it. Traditionally, toasty gruyere bread is the way to go, but I went with mozzarella toast because it's what I had! Delish.
⭐BONUS: fun part for all you Supper Club members - this is a Recipe Redo of the Crockpot Tomato Soup from this month's menu. I'm just going all in on the onion this week!
Do you ever feel too busy?
Moment of truth......I do. All the time.
And, though I'm working on carving out a little time for the things that require me to slow down & not move at warp speed....I'm not always the best at it.
That's why I envy my friend Kate & feel so inspired by her (and her crafty friends). I make soup, but these ladies make all the fun crafty stuff.
I want to share this little secret with you, too, in case you're in need of a little break from all the doing....and want to make a little zen :)
Making Zen Online Retreat
I'm 100% looking forward to this event & all these amazing artists. I'm NO artist, but lord I love to get my crafty vibe on!
I mean, how cute is that little Halloween craft? That cozy mug warmer?? SO CUTE!
🩷FYI if you sign up for your free ticket and go on to buy a VIP Pass, I’ll earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Each purchase from my affiliate link supports Kate & all the artists involved.
This event is all about women slowing down & actually stopping to do something freaking fun....for once :) And, I'm in.
Okay, that's it for this weekend - oh! Come say hey to me over in IG land. I'm making cocktails every week with some fun tailgate shortcut apps, too.
TGIF,
Brett
😍I put a lot of heart into these emails. I hope they make your week a little easier.
