Hey Reader
Late January dinner has a very specific vibe.
It’s not the fun holiday chaos of December.
It’s not the fresh-start energy of early January.
Dinner energy starts skewing more “ughhh” and a lot less “I got this" Something tells me you can relate...😉
And every single year, this is when I instinctively drift straight into Comfort Food Land.
Honestly, I think it’s just my system default at this point. 😅
COMFORT. 💗
Warm, filling, familiar meals.
Crockpots. Casseroles. Soups. Sliders.
The kind of dinners that don’t require creativity — just showing up.
This is also when repeating meals starts to feel like a gift instead of a failure.
When dinner decision fatigue starts to feel even heavier as we roll into the coldest months of the year--here's your PSA:
Starting from scratch every night is the fastest way to burn out
Familiar food is easier. Faster. Calmer. And everyone eats it without commentary (which, honestly, feels like a small miracle!!).
So I’m curious…

For me, this is the point in winter where I stop trying to impress anyone and refocus on what actually makes dinner feel manageable.....Familiarity in its most delicious form.
That’s it. That’s the whole strategy. I mean, seriously, if it ain't broke....amiright??
Just a friendly mid-week reminder from your snow-deprived foodie friend❄️🙈
Talk Soon,
Brett
👀 P.S. We’re leaning into this exact comfort-food energy inside Supper Club as we head into February if you want to peek. I’ll share more details on Friday.
I hope you enjoy getting these emails as much as I enjoy sending them! I put my ❤️into each one & try and stack it full of info that'll be useful, helpful or just keep you going🤗
